Natalia Salazar
Natalia is a fifth-year civil engineering student with an emphasis in environmental engineering. Currently, Natalia’s interests involve environmental remediation and sustainable infrastructure, and of course, canoe's made of concrete. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, her cats, and listening to Harry Styles’ new album. Additionally, Natalia enjoys swimming at the beach, hiking, and (occasional) weightlifting.

Project Manager, Internal
Luis Manuel
Luis is a third-year transfer student from Santa Ana College. He is a construction engineering and management major and and he is very excited to work with the new officers to eventually compete at PSWS with a canoe of their own. During his free time, Luis enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on drives while blasting music especially Spanish rock, and doing pretty much anything that gets the adrenaline pumping.

Construction Captain
Eduardo Martinez
Eduardo Martinez is a second-year general civil engineering student. He is currently interested in structures and construction, but he is willing to experience and learn about the various subdisciplines. Eduardo enjoys reading manga, going to Mexican concerts (banda), staying active by working out or playing volleyball, and spending time with his family and friends when he is not busy with work, school, or extracurricular activities.

Aesthetics Captain
Yarimar Sandoval
Yarimar Sandoval is a fourth-year civil engineering student with a minor in business. She is this year’s Aesthetic Captain for Concrete Canoe and is also serving as the Outreach and Community Service Chairs for ASCE. Besides her academic involvement, she enjoys sketching, hiking, sunsets at the beach, and spontaneous adventures.

Gabi Rodriguez
Gabi is a fifth-year Civil Engineering Student with an Environmental focus. This year she will be serving as the Aesthetics Co-Captain for Concrete Canoe. During her free time, she enjoys going to Angel City FC soccer games with her friends and family, and spending time with her dogs. Additionally, Gabi enjoys watching the sunset at the beach, playing family baseball, and traveling when she can.

Structural & Hull Analysis
Jonathan Jo
Jonathan is a fourth year civil engineering major that is currently interning at AYCE INC. He is excited to have the opportunity to design this year’s canoe and wishes the best for the team and project. He enjoys biking through the city with my friends in my off time. He loves to try out new foods and places with my friends on the weekends. When he’s back home he watches movies, his favorite movies being Reservoir Dogs and Lupin the III.

Julia Syzmanska
Julia is a 4th year civil engineering student and is interested in construction and structural subdisciplines. She joined Concrete Canoe because she enjoys the entire creative process of not only designing the canoe but also competing with! In her free time she loves to spend time with her friends and family (getting coffee and boba!), swimming, and going to concerts.

Cole Pearce
Cole Pearce is the paddling team captain, and is currently studying to be an Environmental Engineer. He is on the team because he is interested in learning more about concrete as well as how to design a floating canoe. He is interested in water and wastewater treatment, hiking, surfing, and snowboarding.

Jean Penderghast
Jean is a fifth-year student studying environmental civil engineering at cal poly pomona. Jean works part time as an intern at Pacific Advanced Civil Engineering (PACE). During her free time, Jean enjoys gardening, horseback riding, crafting including crocheting and woodworking. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring new places, and finding adventure.

Benjamin Martin-Johnson
Benjamin Johnson-Martin is a fourth-year Civil Engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona. Ben has experience in communication, writing, and presenting to propel his CPP Concrete Canoe team to nationals. Additionally, Ben enjoys mountain biking, playing guitar, learning Spanish, listening to music from the 50s, 60s, & 70s, reading, and practicing chess.​
